Jio Phone 2 will be the upgraded variant of the Jio Phone 1. The phone will support an Alphanumeric Keyboard with a 2.4-inch display. The phone will run on KAI OS just like the previous generation Jio Phone. Moreover, you’ll get a 4GB of expandable storage, a 2 MP rear camera and an old-school front VGA camera.

The phone will get 22 preinstalled Indian languages. The Jio Phone 2 will get Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and a normal Micro USB 2.0 port for charging it.

Introduction to The JIO Phone.

The Jio Phone 2 is one of the most affordable 4G VOLTE feature phone. The phone is pretty much like a bar phone, tiny and compact but have a lot of features. This time the Jio Phone will get a huge 2,000mAh battery. This is not a flagship with huge curved AMOLED display which will drain a lot of battery, but it is a small feature phone, so 2,000 mAh is a great deal here.

Camera and Features.

The phone will get a 2 MP rear camera sensor, which is quite acceptable for the price point you are getting the phone. The rear camera will sport a LED flash which can be used in low light for photos and also you can use it as a torch. On the front side of the phone, you’ll get a 0.3 MP VGA camera which is good enough for a budget feature phone.

Listing out the connectivity options, you’ll get Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC (expected), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and other basic features.

You’ll be able to use Bluetooth and the micro USB to transfer data from your Jio Phone 2. The phone is likely to get Dual SIM support as it is mandatory in 2018.

Display and Storage.

Just like the Jio Phone 1, The Jio Phone 2 will ship with a 2.4-inch screen. The main part of this phone is a physical panic button which will send messages to your emergency contacts in case of an emergency. The phone will be available in a single variant of 4GB internal storage which can be further expanded with a MicroSD card probably up to 128GB.

What’s so exciting about the Jio Phone 2?

I bet when you’ll see the first picture of Jio Phone 2 you’ll get nostalgic about those days when you owned a BlackBerry, same looking, QWERTY keyboard but a lot cheaper than a BlackBerry.

The phone is supposed to be launched on 15th August 2018. The Jio Phone is supposed to be priced at 3,000 INR. The only thing which the phone lacks is a hotspot feature, but JioFi is already there for it. It is expected to get WhatsApp and Facebook support this time.
